www.sysdgn.com.sg had a major update in early September 2002.  If you have not visited the site, take a look.  A number of new logos have been added, including Sophos, Xerox Engineering System and Hitachi printers.  Although products like Motorola and QMS printers are dropped, support for these products is still available.  Apart from the logos, the company profile and product details have been updated. 

Systems Design is still focussed on providing solutions to end users either directly or indirectly through partners.  Over time products and trends may change, but the purpose of satisfying the needs of the customers has not.  At one time, it was proprietary Data General computers, then it was Unix-based Plexus and Motorola system.   After that came the graphic based Windows.  Now the latest trend is going back to Linux because of open source and lower price.

Despite the changing environment, the company is always looking for new products to fill our customers’ needs.  Some of the well known companies like DataProducts for printers may have been taken over.  But Hitachi Printing Solutions that has acquired DataProducts is coming back in a big way in laser printers – monochrome and color.

Systems Design’s wish is to see how it can serve its customers’ needs for the next twenty years after already helping customers computerize in the last twenty years.
