5. SYSTEMS DESIGN TO SELL XES X2 PLOTTERS
Xerox Engineering Systems has appointed Systems Design to sell the X2 range of plotters recently. An engineer, Chia Yee Jock, has already attended the maintenance training in Beijing. X2 has two versions, namely, TECH and Graphic Arts. The Graphic Arts has 6 colors (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, Black, Light Cyan and Light Magenta) whilst the TECH has Cyan, Yellow, Magenta and 3 Blacks. Because the X2 uses oil based inks, the plots can dry up almost instantaneously when plotted and UV resistant too. But the amazing advantage is the speed.
The X2 TECH plotter can do 3 A1 size monochrome plots per minute. Because it incorporates the RACER technology, the 3 bottles of black ink are pumped through 3 piezo-electric heads to provide the ultra broad sweep when plotting. At this speed, the X2 TECH matches that of a large format laser printer speed or an electrostatic printer plotter performance. When plotting in color, the throughput is 1.4 A1 size color plots per minute.
The X2 GA plotter can do 57m2/hr (54” model) or 47m2/hr (36” model) at high speed color printing. The output from this single pass is still of sufficiently good quality for sale or presentation. No other plotters come close to this speed with such crisp and durable quality prints. Because the ink used is oil based, the usage is considerably lower compared to those water based HP or EPSON plotters. The water based inks take some time to dry and smudges can occur if not careful. The Pixel correct technology incorporates a camera to provide closed loop feedback to virtually eliminate banding even in high speed productivity mode output.
The X2 plotter will be the right product for those with volume and tight deadlines to meet. Call us for a demo.
